Professional Connections
Towergate Financial recognises the benefit of the “virtuous circle” whereby the client benefits from joined-up, holistic financial planning advice from the most appropriate source. Consequently, wherever possible, we work alongside the client’s existing advisers - solicitor, accountant, etc. However, when those professionals are not already in place or the existing incumbents do not have the requisite skills, we have built-up a network of our own trusted advisers with who we work on a regular basis.
The following notes do not fully reflect the relationships we have, but summarise the key areas in which we do work together with solicitors and accountants.
Matrimonial Departments
We are delighted to introduce Towergate Financial Finance in Divorce – a dedicated service for matrimonial lawyers.
We have a committed team of qualified professionals, which includes an in-house Pensions Technical Manager with actuarial experience, to advise on all financial areas in divorce, particularly the implementation of pension sharing orders.
It is vitally important that advice given following the assessment of any existing pension provisions is given by a qualified professional who understands the family lawyer’s process, and can interpret the independent actuarial report in conjunction with the pension sharing order.
We therefore offer a professional service to matrimonial departments.
Please contact the department at financeindivorce@towergate.co.uk
Litigation and Personal Injury Departments
For litigation lawyers dealing with Personal Injury or Medical Negligence claims, who do not work alongside an in-house Private Client department, we have developed an outsourced service for compliant advice on the use of Personal Injury Trusts.
See our more detailed article in this section.

Private Client Departments
We are committed to our private clients and our team has extensive experience of looking after and preserving the wealth of the family.
We advise on all aspects affecting the private individual and their financial affairs. We make sure that clients preserve their wealth by minimising the amount of tax payable, ensuring they are invested as advantageously as possible and that unforeseen events are provided for.
The services from our dedicated, highly experienced and qualified team include:
-
Reviewing and advising upon existing or new investment arrangements, including pensions.
-
Advising upon means of tax mitigation, especially Inheritance Tax.
-
Advising upon care home fees planning.
-
Arranging protection insurance to ensure unforeseen events do not adversely affect the family.

A first consultation is always free-of-charge and we are happy thereafter to work on a fee basis, a commission basis or a combination of both.
Unlike many of our competitors, clients will not be faced with regular changes of Adviser; a dedicated member of our team who will continue to work with the client in the future.
